A compromise had to be made between readability and universal Compatibility.

Data heavy messages could pose problems when sufficient bandwidth is not available.

RTF/HTML also tend to distract when used carelessly.

If a user finds a need for customising his installation and he is not able to do it,he can contact the mailing list/support group/community.
