We are trying to capture the list of Indian FOSS contributors here. This means, i suppose, Indians in India, as contributions of Indians in foreign is huge, and not a subject of the debate here. Also contibution to application software finds a place here. We could also think of adding background information on the developers. Like background: IT/NonIT, Profession: Student/Employee/Entrepreneur, if employee - MNC or local. Big or small. This may help pinpoint the type or person who contributes to FOSS. Also, an important one, is the person contributing code in the course of employment?
There is another article trying to capture the challenges Indian FOSS contributors have to face.
